Getting 'round to it

I'm making the most of a break between Grad School classes to finally feed Mr. Danenberg some much-needed visual content for the Interstate Soul blog page. Though I'm diggin' what's been put up there in the interim, the new content includes some neon sign flourishes, the official Duke Baxter Band logo, and other goodies. I took some great shots of vintage gas pumps at a service station in Lexington, MA last year, and have been waiting for an excuse to use them somewhere.

The October gigs are rapidly approaching, and so I got on the horn with OK Uniform in NYC to order additional service station shirts for the Duke Horns. The corporate event on Friday, October 2nd is for the National Hardwood Lumber Association, and features both former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and sportcaster Dick Vitale as guest speakers. They will most likely have "left the building" by the time the Duke hits the stage, but they ain't bad names to share a bill with.
The band will spend Friday night at the Sheraton in Boston, and hit the road for Vermont the next day. Been in touch with the bride. It should be a classic soul party, indeed. After all, the groom is the younger brother of the groom from the band's legendary Martha's Vineyard wedding a few years back. I've been told that "Thundersticks" will be in attendance.
